Algonquin Highlands council gives three months for a plan to save Club 35

Club 35 in Algonquin Highlands could see the end of its days soon. At yesterday’s council meeting, councilors talked about the fact that the usage of the building is too low for the cost to run and repair the building. They all agreed it didn’t make sense to keep it running when the Stanhope Community Hall is big enough to hold all of their programs and more.

However, they did say they would consider keeping it open if anyone from the community came to them with a concrete plan showing how they can increase usage. They won’t be making a final decision until June, giving people three months to come forward with a plan.
