The new cell tower proposed for Algonquin Highlands passed the council’s policies. Councilors were content with the public consultation process, and the fact that the tower won’t need to have lights on it. However, councilor Marlene Kyle said more information should have come forward about the option to have multiple small mono-pine towers instead of one large tower.
It’s not yet known when construction will start. The 80 meter trellis-style tower will go up at the intersection of Livingstone Lake Road and Bear Lake Road.
