The second bowl-a-thon fundraiser for the Volunteer Dental Outreach raised close to five thousand dollars for the organization. About 40 bowlers were out at the event including local politicians, MPP Laurie Scott, and federal election candidates.

The money raised is helping to offset some of the operation costs to provide free, urgent dental care to residents in Haliburton County.

So far, since they’ve been up and running in 2011, the organization has provided care to over five hundred patients.

Their next fundraising event is the fifth annual golf tournament happening this summer.
