A mental health crisis worker and an OPP officer will make visits to people in the community to offer assessments and support. Regional Director for Integrated Mental Health, Thomas Jones explains,

Jones says other areas that have this program have seen a decrease in calls for EMS, visits to the emerg and calls to 911. Jones says it’s planned intervention, where the team of two would make visits one day a week. They are still working on policies and procedures and are hoping to have it up and running no later than September.
