The walking bridge on Beetle Lake Trail in Algonquin Highlands has been closed. Staff made the assessment and asked council’s permission to close it off until it can be replaced.
The rest of the trail will remain open, it just won’t be a continuous loop anymore.
Rebuilding the bridge would need an engineer’s report, so staff doesn’t think it’s something that can fit into this year’s budget.
