The Minden Hills council chamber was full of applause this morning, when the Disaster Relief Committee (DRC) announced that the community raised just over 710 thousand dollars. That money was used to help the community after Minden’s flood in 2013. Since then, 64 people have received approval for their claims.

The committee submitted their final report today, and also submitted recommendations to the province, which are already being used.

Councilors expressed huge thanks for the work of the committee. As of today, the DRC is officially dissolved.
