We can expect to hear from the Community Policing Advisory Committee soon. Algonquin Highlands Reeve Carol Moffatt is the chair and she says they are finalizing the terms of reference.
The goal of the committee is to create working relationships between the municipalities in Haliburton County and the OPP.
She says one of their main priorities is to educate people on 911 calls, and just how much they cost. She says if people know when it’s appropriate to call 911, and when they can use other services, it will reduce the calls for service.
