A single vehicle collision on Highway 35 in Dorset has claimed the life of the male driver.

Haliburton Highlands OPP and the Technical Collision Investigations Unit are currently on scene.

OPP report the initial investigation shows the vehicle left the roadway and struck a rock cut.

It happened at approximately 5:30 this afternoon on Highway 35 south of Muskoka Road 117.

The male driver was the only person in the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not being released until next of kin are notified.

The road is closed between Raven Lake Landing and Muskoka Road 117 until further notice.

The investigation is ongoing.
