Another generating station in Minden Hills is a potential and it would be at the Horseshoe Lake dam.

Orillia Power Generation came to councilors yesterday looking for their support. CEO and President Keith McAllister assured them that they have an ongoing relationship with the Trent-Severn Waterway so the station won’t affect water levels on Horseshoe Lake. They said it would mean more automation of the dam, so it will enhance water control.

When it comes to revenue for the Township, CAO and Treasurer Lorrie Blanchard said it would mean around 55 thousand dollars a year.

A public meeting is happening on July 16.
