HHHS Palliative Centre delayed, board chair assures they are not losing steam

There’s been a small delay in the Palliative Centre project for the Haliburton Highlands Health Services. They got approval from the Ministry earlier this month, but the minor variance needed for construction wasn’t approved by the municipality. Board Chair, John Kay says the project has come a long way, and it will still go ahead.

Kay says they are expecting a delay in the project, they just don’t know how long. Once they decide on a new spot within the Haliburton site, they’ll have to reapply to the Ministry for approval. Kay says the function of the centre will not change.

He says the project still has full commitment from Health Services and the foundation.
