There’s still some hope for Club 35 after a decision about its closure wasn’t made. It was supposed to happen at yesterday’s council meeting, but someone from the public was there to defend it. It wasn’t a public meeting though, so councilors couldn’t allow him to address the issue.
Earlier this year, councilors said the space doesn’t get a lot of usage, and the cost for repairs and bills are just too high. They wanted to move the Club 35 programs to the Stanhope Community Hall so they could close it.
They agreed to wait one more month to make the decision so people can offer a plan to increase usage.
