The recent increase in bear presence has caused a campsite closure in Algonquin Park. Backcountry campsites at McManus Lake will be closed until August 15th according to officials at Algonquin Park. When it comes to being around bears in backcountry sites, officials are reminding everyone to never feed the bears, and burn any food scraps and fat drippings in a hot fire.
