Reducing policing costs is high on the priority list for a lot of communities in Ontario, and that includes Haliburton County.
Councillors just got an update from CAO Michael Rutter who says the Eastern Ontario Warden’s Caucus is trying to reduce costs. He says reducing the hierarchy, addressing rising wages, and discussing more efficient service delivery is on their to do list.
Some changes are also coming to the Police Services Act, according to councillor Brent Devolin who heard it from the Minister at a recent conference. He says it could mean a benefit to rural communities.
