News Haliburton County thanks retiring EMS Director for great service to community SHARE ON: Ken Nichol, contributor, Thursday, Dec. 19th, 2013 EMS Director Pat Kennedy is ready to go fishing. He attended his last county council meeting this week. County councilors praised his 34 years of service to the community saying he’s done a good job. Chief Kennedy is most proud of implementing the PAD program, with defibrillators in 41 public sites around the county. He was also responsible for the new EMS base in Tory Hill which helped meet mandated ambulance response times. He officially retires on January 17.
