Pat Kennedy has stepped down as Executive Director of the Haliburton Highlands Land Trust.

Kennedy took the job in June after Larry O’Connor put in his resignation in March.

At the same time Kennedy decided to leave, the board had to accept the resignation of the Board of Directors Chair, Cindy Sedore.

Acting Chair Dianne Mathes says there are no issues, and they’re very sad to see Kennedy go. She also says there’s no connection between the two leaving at the same time. She says Sedore left for personal reasons, and she has the board’s support.

The position of the Executive Director is funded through a Trillium grant which still has about a year left, so Mathes says they will be rehiring for the position.

The organization has a very involved board, so Mathes says none of the Land Trust’s activities will be affected by the changes.

Mathes says the Board of Directors will be meeting this week to reflect and see if there’s anything they can learn moving forward.
