A twist on a charity walk to raise money for clean water

Local volunteers with Water Ambassadors Canada are gearing up for a charity challenge that will help fund their projects this year. Founder Barry Hart says he started the organization with Heather Alloway 13 years ago in Haliburton, and now it’s an international charity.

Hart says they’ll be walking for five kilometers with buckets on their heads to represent the communities they help each and every year.

Hart says they completed 100 projects last year, and it all depends on the donors.

Hart says they appreciate anything they can get, but if he had to set a goal, it would be $10,000. He says that would buy them five wells.

The walk is happening at the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon on October 19th. You can find more information about the organization and how to donate on their website.
