Hospital beds in Haliburton County are not at a threat of being cut as previously reported.
HHHS CEO Varouj Eskedjian says the redevelopment of beds in the province could affect Extendicare, not the hospital. The beds there need to be replaced to meet current standards, and that’s what the Central East LHIN is working on.
Eskedjian says HHHS is not planning to close any of their beds either in their acute care unit or any of their long term care homes.
