A 64 year old woman is dead following a roof collapse in Gooderham. Haliburton Highlands OPP say the victim was cleaning snow off the deck at her mother’s home on Contau Lake Road around 2:45 yesterday afternoon when the roof above her collapsed. Police say it appears the cause of the incident was the weight of the heavy snow and recent precipitation. Efforts by Haliburton EMS and Highlands East Fire Department to revive the woman were unsuccessful and she died as a result of her injuries. She has been identified as Bonnie Dewey of Gooderham.
