We could see improved road maintenance in Haliburton County this winter.
That’s according to the MTO who says they’ve been in discussions with Carillion Canada about enhancing service. Local Area Contracts Engineer Doug Rivers says the company will be required to give a roster of drivers, and verification that their equipment is mechanically ready.
He also says they have a number of spare vehicles for the area as replacements if they’re needed.
The information is coming forward after local resident Sean Pennylegion sent a letter to the Minister calling for a change to winter maintenance.
