Francis Road bridge in Gelert needs to be replaced. A piece of the decking popped out last month, and it turns out it’s rotting. An engineer’s inspection says some plywood will hold it over for the winter while the township buys a prefabricated bridge. The five tonne limit on the bridge will stay in effect until it can be replaced. It’s going to cost over $200,000 and it’s expected to be replaced in May.
