Our local school board is changing the process of reviewing under-used schools. Director of Education Larry Hope says under new guidelines from the Ministry of Education, every municipality is being asked to give feedback on the process. Hope says they haven’t made any decisions if they’ll be studying any schools in the near future.
Hope says when the time comes to review schools in the area, a new process will be in place.
Hope says the new guidelines from the Ministry also means the pupil accommodation review will be an open process.
Right now, councillors across Haliburton County are giving their input on what they would like to see in the review process.
