More people are using the food bank in Minden, and it’s the same across the province. According to this year’s Hunger Count, almost 50 per cent of food banks in Ontario are reporting an increase. Manager of the Minden Food Bank, Joanne Barnes says usage has been increasing since May, but they’ve managed to stay on top of it.
Barnes says while Wilberforce is reporting a decrease in usage, the Minden Food Bank is taking in new people every day.
