Haliburton Highlands OPP is asking drivers to focus while on the road during the long weekend.

Drivers are reminded to take those important and precious few minutes to ensure that everyone is safely buckled.

Police say legally drivers need to check that all passengers under the age of 16 are properly buckled up.

Being properly buckled up reduces the risk of a serious injury or death by 75%.
