It’s a busy time of year for local police and they’re sending a few tips to reduce theft.
Haliburton Highlands OPP says you should always lock your vehicle, even if it’s in your driveway, and keep valuables out of site. When in a parking lot, they say to park in a well-lit area.
Women are also reminded not to leave their purse in a cart while shopping.
OPP also suggest using a bank machine that’s in a visible and active area.
Another suggestion is to put out presents at the last minute if your tree is visible from outside.
