Winter Storm Warning in Effect for Haliburton Highlands

Today’s Forecast, snow mixed with ice pellets. Blowing snow. Snow and ice pellet amount 5 to 10 cm. Wind east 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 2.

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Additional snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm today.

A Texas low is tracking towards the Great Lakes area today and will continue to give snow at times heavy mixed with ice pellets to the area. Freezing rain may also become mixed with the snow and ice pellets at times. The precipitation will begin to taper off this afternoon.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
