Haliburton Highlands OPP along with Minden Hills Fire Department and Haliburton County Paramedics were called to assist at a serious snowmobile collision yesterday shortly before 2:00pm on Francis Road at Sedgwick Road in the Township of Minden Hills. A snowmobile travelling westbound on the B103 trail entered into the intersection at the road crossing at Francis Road and struck a pickup truck travelling southbound on Francis Road. As a result of the collision, the driver of the snowmobile, a 51 year old male from Tillsonburg, ON was fatally injured. At the request of the family the victim’s name will not be released. The female driver and female passenger of the pickup truck did not suffer any injuries.
