The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit will be visiting and providing educational materials to stores that have been affected by the new act on electronic cigarettes.

Anyone under the age of 19 cannot buy an e-cigarette.

The health unit wants local businesses to understand their responsibilities so they can comply with the new law if they are selling e-cigarettes.

Tobacco Control Officer at the Health Unit, Kris Kadwell, says there is a lot to learn with the new e-cigarettes law, so they will be providing people with the materials and resources they need to understand and comply with the new rules.

The health unit is responsible for enforcing the Electronic Cigarettes act.
