Haliburton County teachers are threatening to increase strike actions in the TLDSB.

The talks between OCCTF District 15 and the school board have been called off by the provincial mediator.

The union has been pushing for easier access to time off for teachers, but the school board believes this could lead to staff being off more often. The school board is concerned that if staff takes more days off that this would impact student’s achievements in a negative way.

The union also wants to make changes to how performance reviews are done.

The school board will be looking to arbitration for all of the outstanding issues.

The school board will be looking at all of its options if the strike actions increase.
