County’s 2014 budget passed

Haliburton County passed their budget yesterday holding to a 2 percent increase. Not an
easy task with the cost of winter road maintenance already way over budget.
User fees will go up across the board to help keep the overall budget increase
in check.  It costs the county almost 19 million dollars to operate with 13 million coming from property taxes. The rest comes from user fees, funding from the federal and provincial and savings.
