UncategorizedMinden Hills to relocate fire hall to Highway 35 property SHARE ON: Sue Black, staff Friday, Jan. 24th, 2014Minden Hills have officially stated they are interested in relocating their fire hall to Highway 35. Last year the county purchased the old Walker property with plans to build a new EMS base. Minden Hills has been considering joining the project and moving their fire hall from the downtown core. Reeve Barb Reid told the county this week that they are interested and will contribute half of the fixed costs incurred to date, becoming equal partners in the project. Both the county and Minden Hills agree they will need significant funding from the federal and provincial governments to pay for the new building to avoid a significant increase to taxpayers. They may also look at borrowing the money. The project will be on the February agenda.
