A man has been charged with impaired driving in the Township of Dysart et al, while trying to avoid a R.I.D.E. check point.
The Haliburton Highlands OPP says the man was caught near Kennisis Lake Road and Eagle Lake Road on the afternoon of February 28th.
Police say they saw a vehicle approaching the R.I.D.E. check, before doing a three point turn to drive in the opposite direction to avoid police.
Officers left the checkpoint, to find the vehicle on Eagle Lake road and conduct a traffic stop.
The driver failed a roadside screening test, and was arrested and brought to the Haliburton Highlands OPP detachment.
A 57-year-old Minden man is now facing a charge of driving over the legal limit.
He has been released, with a promise to appear in a Minden court on April 6th.
