The Board of Health has approved a $16.7 million budget which represents a 2.5 per cent increase in funding.
Although The Haliburton Health Unit as well as Northumberland County and the City of Kawartha Lakes have an increase they are still trying to save money.
The Health Unit has decided to implement a number of cost-saving measures, like revisions to the contract with its cellphone provider, reviewing programs and managing staff vacancies.
