Minden Hills Cultural Centre May Be In The 2016 Budget Afterall

Council members of Haliburton County are re-looking at their original plan of removing $50,000 from the Minden Hills Cultural Centre budget.

In January, director of community services Mark Coleman had asked council to remove that money from the centres budget to keep the township property tax increase under 10 percent.

Last Thursday council met to discuss the 2016 budget and councillor Pam Sayne suggested taking $20,000 out of reserves and moving it to the cultural centre.

A decision hasn’t been made yet, but council will meet again on March 10th to discuss the budget.
