A new business proposal has been made to Dysart council. CEO Karl Phister of Armatec Survivability presented a possible location for a new military testing facility near Elephant and Benoir Lakes. The facility would be used to test the durability of tanks against IED’s and other explosives. Although assured the noise would be less than a gunshot, with minimal environmental impact, Councillor Norcross asked to speak with other communities near similar facilities to understand their experience. The project could offer part time and full time employment opportunities to the area.
