Dysart is joining other central and northern Ontario municipalities in addressing the maintenance of our highways. Since the Ministry of Transportation contracted Carillion to maintain provincial highways, the municipality has noticed a decrease in service on Highway 118, causing a real and serious threat to public safety. They have written to the MTO and the Premiere asking that the service be restored back to the former level in 2011. UPDATE: Moose FM has learned that Carillion and others have been fined by the Ministry of Transportation for substandard service in Northern Ontario.
