The 2016 Budget Has Been Approved For Algonquin Highlands

The 2016 Budget for the Township of Algonquin Highlands has been approved.

Council members say the biggest change is the OPP cost. The municipality is required to pay for police services which have made the municipal tax levy increase by 5.7%.

Another tax increase will be 5.2% on property tax for residents of Algonquin Highlands.

This tax increase will amount to an additional $21 for every $100,000 of property assessment.
