Former CBC host Jian Ghomeshi has been found not guilty in the first of two trials for sexual assault.
Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP Laurie Scott says this trail has brought awareness about sexual assault and harassment in society.
She is applauding the bravery it took for the women who came forward.
Scott says Ghomeshi’s trial highlights how difficult it can be to seek justice.
She noted that one in three women will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime, and only ten percent do come forward.
