The Township of Minden Hills says water levels of Burnt River have peaked and will start going down in most areas.
They say an increase of outflow on Horseshoe Lake has caused water levels of Gull River to increase and remain high.
Officials say both bodies of water could freeze because of the weather conditions.
Residents who have had flooding are being reminded to get their tap water checked if they are on a private well.
