OPP from Haliburton and the Central Region S.A.V.E. team, and OFSC -S.T.O.P. officers have been busy conducting checks on Haliburton County snowmobile trails. Over the past weekend, over 200 snowmobiles were checked at numerous trail locations. Staff Sergeant Chad Bark says the goal is to make sure the scenic trails are safe. Snowmobilers can expect to see increased trail patrols and checkpoints both day and night this winter. The OPP would like to remind everyone to ‘sled safe and smart’ on the trails, and please don’t drink and drive.
