The Haliburton County area may soon have a new telecommunications company.
The North Frontenac Telephone Company made a presentation to Bancroft council, and says if it came to the area, it would be providing high-speed internet, cable tv, and home phone services.
The company is looking to expanding into Haliburton, Minden and Bancroft.
Vice President Grant Roughley says the company is not currently asking for anything from the town, but down the line, it may look for some help from the municipalities.
The company has not made any final decisions as to whether or not it will expand to the area.
