HKPR Offers Free Hepatitis A Immunizations Because Of Recalled Berries

The Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge-District Health Unit is offering free Hepatitis A immunizations to residents who have eaten a recalled frozen berry blend that was sold at Costco.

Medical Officer Dr. Lynn Noseworthy says there have been 13 cases reported in Canada, most found in Ontario.

She is advising people to get vaccinated if they ate the Nature’s Touch Organic Berry Cherry Blend product within the past 14 days.

She adds the shots are being given by appointment only.

Anyone with questions can call the health unit.
