Residents Asked To Look For ALB

The Haliburton County Forest Conservation wants residents to keep an eye out for Asian longhorn beetles.

CAO Michael Rutter says in 2013, the beetle was found in Toronto.

He says it’s possible the forest pest hitchhiked out of the area undetected.

He wants residents to look for a round pencil sized hole on maple, elm, birch, poplar and willow trees.

If the mark is found, you are asked to call Haliburton Forest Conservation. https://haliburtoncounty.ca/services/forestry/forest-pests-asian-long-horn-beetle/
