Application Process Causes Concerns For County Warden

Haliburton County Warden Carol Moffatt thinks the new application process for docks and boathouses hasn’t been thought out.

Moffatt says the province introduced the application last month, but the changes follow a decision handed down by the Ontario Superior Court made last summer.

The MNRF says the installation of a dock or boathouse more than 15 square metres requires a permit.

Moffatt says Boating Ontario has hired a consultant to look into the application process.

She will be taking this topic to the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus.
