HKPR Wants Residents To Make An Emergency Kit

The first week of May is Emergency Preparedness Week.

Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge District Health Unit urges residents to be prepared for any type of emergency or disaster.

They say to keep an extra supply of food, and clean drinking water.

Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Carol Chan says a full freezer will keep food frozen for two days if the door is kept closed.

Chan says to keep an emergency kit containing short-term essentials.
