Community Care Haliburton County is calling the Scotty Morrison Tournament an overwhelming success. The weekend of Feb 1st was taken over by Haliburton Highlands hockey alumni and sports greats to help the not for profit group raise money. Last year the tournament raised almost $40,000, and organizer Brigitte Gebauer says this year, thanks to Matt Duchene, Cody Hodgson and former NHL referee Frank Udveri, they were able to raise even more. But Ms. Gebauer says it was local business sponsorship that put them over the top. Plans have already begun for the 7th annual that will take place in Minden.
