Former NDP MPP Don Abel has declared his candidacy for the NDP nomination in the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock provincial riding. He says “people in this riding and the province of Ontario are facing some serious issues that must be addressed, and it will take more than a big smile and hardy handshake to deal with them”. He adds, “the riding deserves an MPP who is prepared to roll up the shirt sleeves and deal with these issues head on.” A formal nomination meeting is scheduled to be held on February 16 in Lindsay.
