A Haliburton Highlands Secondary School student has been elected as the new student trustee for the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.
Grade 11 student Carmen Galea says she is excited to work with students and staff from across TLDSB, as well as Ontario.
She says she’s passionate about hearing ideas, concerns and opinions.
According to the school board, a trustee is someone who compiles information from the G7 Student Senate and reports it to school board meetings.
Director of Education Larry Hope is confident Galea will help shape the future of education.
