Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP Laurie Scott has asked councillors of Minden Hills to support her efforts to call on the provincial government to take immediate steps to combat human trafficking in Ontario.
Scotts proposed bill aims to educate the public about human trafficking, and creating a taskforce to end it.
Reeve Brent Devolin says this is worthy of the township’s support.
Councillor Pam Sayne agrees and says they need to see how these issues are affecting the community.
The municipality supports Laurie Scott’s draft resolution.
