The Dysart et al Fire Department is reminding residents to stay near your stove when cooking and always keep children nearby when heating grease or oil.
Fire Chief Miles Maughan says 11 fire fighters responded to a kitchen fire on Sunday.
When they arrived, they saw a pot of oil on fire making the house filled with smoke.
Maughan says there were no injuries, but $10,000 in damage.
