The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry wants residents to remember regulations while fishing.
Officials say a man has been fined $1,000 for fishing offences, and has been prohibited from angling in Ontario for six months.
On May 13th, the man was fishing near Dorset when officials saw he was angling with extra lines from inside a nearby cottage.
MNRF suggests looking at fishing regulations on the Ontario website.
